This has been brought up before, but it’s closed for voting so I opened a new one. You mentioned you thought it was a good idea, so I wanted to make sure that you saw there is support for this.
I think this is a good way to expose people (family/friends), to Trakt without major hurdles like having to subscribe just to see a list you want to share with them. In my case, I prefer to keep my watch history and lists private, but would like to share particular lists with a couple people that do not have accounts.
My hope is that once they see the benefit of Trakt they might want to join, but they don’t have to jump through hoops just to see a list I want to share. The people I want to share with don’t really “get” exactly what Trakt is and can do, but this would be great example that is easily understood.
