I think it would be great if when a movie is part of a franchise it would show up somewhere on that entry.
I know there are lists made by users but those aren’t always accurate and TMDB does have this feature, so I was wondering how hard it would be to implement something like this
They are actually shown in Lists > Official Lists, but clicking on it, doesn’t work.
An example is this:
The movie has been added to a collection about a gazillion times, and that collection has been removed my mods just as often. So you see the collection being imported a gazillion times too…
An actual good example is Hunger Games, or Twilight, PotC, Fast & furious or whatever:
Here is some more discussion on what I believe is the same kind of request.
I would like to see all movies and the TV spin-offs in a series/franchise, listed on the page. You’d find a movie & see the related movies & spin-offs.
For example:
*“Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts”, which are separate series but are related.
The Fantastic Beasts prequel movies which introduce an early version of Albus Dumbledore, and his former friend/arch-enemy Gellert Grindelwald.
- Also, “Better Luck Tomorrow” which introduces Han Lue (Sung Kang), who joins the crew in “Tokyo Drift”.
I had no idea official lists existed. Sometimes I would search for a specific list and they wouldn’t open up so I guess that kinda explains it. Learning something everyday am I right? ahah
Still, I think it would be great if those lists would be brought to the front somehow, kinda like a heads up “Hey you’re going to watch that one? It’s part of this franchise”
We actually started doing this in the Trakt iPhone app, the first list is the official list we get from TMDB. Planning to port that to the website too.
Awesome can’t wait for it get on the website & on Android tablets.
Yeah, “Official” lists haven’t worked for as long as I’ve been a member (over a year). Would be great if they fixed it and I really like the “heads up” you suggested.
