Strange time when adding to history using Release Date

I am in the UK and my times are all set to UK time, but i am getting the wrong time used when i select to Add to History using Release Date

This airs at 9pm, but when i add to history it adds it as 9:46pm

This one airs at 7pm, but adding to history adds at 8pm

Looking further, is this a change, Release Date seems to now be episode air time + length of show?
Anyway i can get it back as it was, if an episode airs at 7pm and i click add to history on release date, then i expect it to be added at 7pm

This seems around 12th March

Entries for 12th and prior are all correct
13th I didnt use the option so not sure if working on this Saturday
14th and onwards are all showing wrong times as above

Yes, it was changed to add the runtime. If an episode airs at 7, it is actually watched after the runtime has elapsed, not when it starts.

The “other date” still accepts any specific date and time. I fixed some issues with that so it accepts more formats too.

Thanks
Any chance of an option to get previous behaviour?, as the runtime is often meaningless, especially when watching live tv

p.s., I did initially put a help ticket through about this issue, if you see one with my name you can close it off

I don’t think we’ll revert the change since it’s more accurate to use the runtime with release date. If you’re watching live tv, I suggest checking in when you start watching the show.

Checking in makes no difference
If i check in on a show at 9pm, this will flag it as watched at 9:46, when i watched it till 10pm

How is it more accurate?

If I have an episode that is 46 mins in length

If I watch this on live tv, i have watched for an hour
if i watch this on a streaming service with ads, it will be getting on an hour of watching

Adding the run time onto the aired time is just assuming everyone watches things ad free, this is not right and will get even worse when more streaming services start adding ads

Can you give me a positive example of why an episode watched from 9pm to 10pm would want to be flagged as watched at 9:46pm, I cannot see any reason to want this

I see your point. However, it’s closer to being accurate by setting 9:46pm instead of 9pm, which is when the show starts airing. All runtimes on Trakt are assuming ad free so there will be some difference.

Checking in, just watched, and other date all are for the end time. Release date was using the start date, so it was the outlier. That is the logic behind the change.

Have to agree to disagree on the first point, seeing an episode flagged as watched at 9:46 just looks totally wrong, and i prefer not seeing this, air times are not very accurate, so should not be relied on as a figure to set something as watched

Understand what you are saying in the other point, but i have my 8+ years history based on previous behaviour, this new change now looks wrong in comparison to my historically watch history

hopefully you will think of adding an option for this at some point in the future, I have had to remove my tracking of shows that air more than once a week as it’s to cumbersome to now add to history

Added a new setting to not add the runtime if you prefer that. The default is to add it.
