Trakt Lite experience

It’s hard to pin down. The colour (I like dark as it’s better on my eyes), I find the layout less professional looking than the app (which is also light, haven’t found a way to make it dark unfortunately), and less intuitive. No settings at all as far as I can see, or access to account details, etc. So long as I can keep using the feature rich (though rather clunky, I admit) main site I’ll stick with it.

Edit. I use SeriesGuide before both the site and the app. It’s not connected to Trakt since there’s no way to have my collection and Watchlist private while having fully public lists, so I use it to manually keep track of what I watch as at least that way it’s private.

Both Lite and the official apps have dark mode.
Lite at the bottom of the pages (eg tap the sun/moon).
Official app in the settings page via profile/me tab.

I’d say right now what we’re after is, if your using lite (especially on your mobile, but any device) and you find a need to go to the website or app - giving those specific features or settings and the use case for it so that we can potentially prioritise if they’re something highly used (niche or not).

I’m not sure a settings page specifically missing is a bad thing (it’s planned to be added in some capacity) but say if you’ve changed a setting such as spoiler settings and it’s not applied in lite (where applicable) that’s something we want to know.

Again, the iOS and tvOS apps main screens have similar UI components to Lite right now, so I’m still not sure what “professional” means but it’s changed a lot and will probably continue to as we make adjustments on Lite.

Also good point on the private feature, that’s also something planned to address I believe. But as you can imagine it’s not a simple change due to making sure the right things are hidden and/or public.

Sun/moon??

(Found the app one, cheers). I just find this so much better looking.

For lists, I think it’s the smaller posters, having the details, the ability to edit them things, etc. Everything just feels too big and clunky compared to the app and misses all the features the actual website (and in many cases the app) has.

It means to change a setting you need to go back to the main site, ie jump back and forth. In that case I’d just stay where I can access everything rather than trying out Lite to its “fullest” (which I think only takes a few minutes anyway)

A post was split to a new topic: Lite up next sorting

For the theme (sun/moon) scroll to the bottom of any page

List management is a work in progress I believe, but you can already add and remove things from summary pages.

How often are you changing these settings when using the website or app? Anything you’ve already set should apply, and if it’s not those are the things we want to know about. If you can list a few settings that you’re having to actually change often that’d help.

I understand on mobile things feel a little larger than expected and I agree for sure. I believe those will adjust over time as more time is spent optimising for mobile vs web.

I know everyone’s usage is different but that’s why I think having a note of which specific use cases are missing rather than a generic “all the features are missing” will help.

Ah, not the bottom of the screen! That’s I guess an example of it not being very intuitive lol

Because I only use lists, since I use SeriesGuide for tracking, I don’t particularly use settings. I think it’s more an OCD thing - if I have it in one version I need it in all, lol!

One other thing - calendar? Or am I blind on Lite? Since I’m still VIP I like to take advantage of what’s premiering over the next week, etc.

So long as I can still use the full website for the calendar and lists (mind you, posters are huge on it as well) and the app (for searches and list editing) I’m happy enough. I just don’t think Lite is for me at the moment.

I appreciate you interacting and trying to help
