Thanks for the explanation. I use the Add to Library button every day, in tandem with the Calendar page. It’s how I keep track of which TV show episodes have been released, and my addition of them to my collection. It is the primary reason for my use of Trakt.
I also use the library listing as a way for others who have access to my collection to engage with it more easily (and request things that may be missing). Those functions have enabled me to try to build some community around my media library among the folks who have access to it.
Honestly, the fact that you’ve forced this UI change on us without an understanding of how all of the currently-existing features will (or whether they should) be included in the new experience is astounding, tbh.
Right now, without the features that I use, the app is utterly useless for me. Engaging with it is a waste of my time.
I’m not a stereotypical nerd troll. I’m fine with change. My issues are not with the change per se, they’re with the method by which you’re deploying the change. I happen to think that your new UI design is crap, but I’d get used to it if I could still engage with it in a way that is relevant to my use case. But right now I can’t even do that, and from what you’ve said there’s no guarantee that I ever will be able to again.
If the annual renewal of my VIP membership had not been charged to my credit card a few days ago, this new information would cause me to cencel that renewal. As it stands you got my $ again, but I’m now on the lookout for an alternative service. Unless the app becomes useful to me again and/or if I lose access to the features that I value via the website, that’ll be the last fee that I pay.
