I can’t see my header on my profile page with the new iOS mobile update. I like some of the new features, but not being able to see my header is a big no.

I can’t see my header on my profile page with the new iOS mobile update.
I also can’t see my total watch time at the top of my profile.
I am not a fan of the new profile page altogether. I liked having the different tabs together right at the bottom of my header.
The new logo looks very generic. The gradient colours from red to purple it used to be made it stand out. Now it’s just a flat color and it takes away all the creativity of the logo.
Pros:
Being able to customize the main tabs at the bottom.
Wait, they really ignored ALL the feedback and just pushed the update anyway‽ There is SO MUCH info missing from profiles now.
How do I even see people’s comments from their profiles? I can’t even find where my own comments are now.
I’m really hating Trakt’s new direction of giving us LESS when paying MORE. Trakt was all about statistics at one point, now they’re gutting all of that (as seen with the abysmal year in review) and instead replacing it with a bare bones husk of what it once was.
This doesn’t bode well for the “new” Trakt desktop site if they’re just going to ignore all the good feedback they’ve gotten from paying users.
Great, something literally nobody wanted. What is your absurd business model where you ignore literally your entire user base? I really can’t comprehend the brain dead approach this company has taken recently. You already pushed me away from VIP and I expect you’re going to do the same with many others when your main competitor actually listens to what their users want, shock horror, a business that gives the people using it what they want. When Justin appeared to call the shots people loved this platform, but it appears a clueless moron with as much business sense as a broken Donald Trump toilet brush may have taken over. At this point if trakt was a country it would be comparable to North Korea.
A lot of feedback has been made but this has to be the biggest lie. So many comments have been made about how bad the new UI is, and here they are gaslighting us.
as an example, I’m going to get RSI just from swiping to the latest episode of long seasons. I don’t dare look at single-season anime.
Meanwhile what used to take one click now takes two or more.
I can’t see progress per season either.
edit: can we also have some differentiation on the colour of the button for watched or unwatched? I find the stylised tick is too subtle. It should really just be the icon if unwatched. The purple makes me think watched.
I can’t see any evidence of feedback being taken into consideration either. Simple things like continue watching being set to last watched with no option to change it in the app is such a small thing to include that was always possible before.
Hi! I was so updset when I updated my ios app last night. It went from being a useful management tool for my home (physical media) collection to being virtually useless. Now I have to use the website to manage and view my library which is hopeless on my phone. I only joined Trakt for this and because of the link there is between the Apple TV Infuse app and Trakt. I suppose I can try and use my ipad to access the Website while on the sofa but the phone app was perfect for this. I don’t really like having to go to my email for my code every time I login though. If the Website follows this direction I will have absolutely no reason at all to stay subscribed to Trakt. I wonder if the developers will notice or even care?
Just a small follow up. This may be due to my ineptitude on an ipad but I can only get access to a cut down version of the website that has had all references to the library removed. Can you imagine my frustration when I have entered over 700 movies to my library/collection since I joined last May!!
No, not your ineptitude. This is them releasing an unfinished, beta product and failing to listen to many, many people who have said this feature needs to be part of the new experience at launch. (The data is still there, btw. They’re just not exposing it on the frontend yet).
This update is horrible — it’s not user friendly at all and it’s already got stupid glitches. I can’t see lists displayed on my profile but I can see them on others and they can see mine.
Also, where are our comments, our most watched shows and movies? And as a VIP member one benefit was a profile banner which we can’t see anymore.
Why do I even bother reporting bugs? I have reported the broken “continue watching” for ages and have been ignored every single time.
Again, I HAVE WATCHED THESE! What I have not watched is the credits, stop telling me to continue watching something I have already watched. This was never a problem before you started gutting Trakt
I have some coding experience and I don’t like this new interface at all. My friends don’t either. I can’t seem to add stuff to lists or even edit them anymore which was the whole reason I was using it, so I can keep track of how many episode I’ve watched per month. I hate that you can’t see the header anymore and how everything these days has to have the minimalist look about it. It’s just all round awful and I don’t like it at all. May have to look into Serialized if this is going to stick around as I can’t work it for love nor money
I posted on reddit but feel like I should post here……STOP forcing horizontal lists!! This isn’t a TV screen, it’s a phone. Constantly having to scroll to the right is just bad UI.
Some other things that aren’t great compared to the old app - and I don’t think this is just me complaining, but rather a serious regression in usability:
Can’t order sections. We couldn’t in the old app, but at least the sections made more sense. Why on the home screen is Start Watching 2nd? It should be Continue and then upcoming like before
The endless sections on a show detail page are just bad. I want the details, not all the clutter.
Why is managing and removing watch history for a show/episodes so bad now? What was wrong with before where it simply would show all the episodes and you had the little trashcan or you could wipe all history.
Viewing a show detail - the episodes list no longer shows airdates. We like to plan out new shows based on when they air and when they end. I could simply scroll (vertically) before and see all the episodes and dates. Now I have to scroll (horizontally), select the last episode in the list and find the date. Why?
Please allow either hiding or rearranging of sections on screens. The show details page is littered with where to watch, community, reviews that are all ABOVE the actual show details. This is fine if that’s what you want - but at least give us the choice to move or hide sections.
The black on black for the progress bar is a bit hard to read
I appreciate active development, but I feel like the devs are working in a vacuum and aren’t understanding how users are using the app. This feels very much like every TV app where they are choosing style over function. I feel like the users of Trakt are different than your average TV viewer. We want those details first - and all the clutter to either be hidden or moved down the page.
I just noticed as well there is no way to manually add stuff to your library now — honestly, whoever approved this update clearly doesn’t use the app themselves because this is the most horrendous changes in one update I’ve saw.
They’re now falsely advertising VIP features that don’t exist
Unlimited notes doesn’t seem to exist anymore and while I can view my existing library, I can’t find any way to add new items to it, making it useless for any future movies I buy.
These are features I paid for AND actually use. I even use the library “correctly” to catalog my physical collection. No idea why they want to police how people use it, but I do actually use it as intended
I truly don’t understand why this was rolled out to everybody. There are so many things I use all the time that from what I can tell straight up aren’t there in the new version of the app currently. I hope they’ll add it all back in as they go – but even then, why force all users to deal with the missing functionality in the meantime?
History view doesn’t group by date or show total watch time per day (or allow grouping by all views). I can’t see or sort by my personal rating in lists. Private notes appear to be completely missing, as does the ability to see my ratings and comments from my profile.
All the horizontal scrolling is incredibly annoying. My phone screen is so much taller than it is wide, so why am I scrolling horizontally through all the episodes in a season of a show?
I also just realized, are season-level ratings and comments totally gone now too?
