the shows air on streaming services ahead of the tv air dates sometimes. TMDB uses the tv air dates that’s why it shows up that way. in the ios app you should still be able to track the show but the website won’t allow you to

as usual with tmdb is that they are using previous century rules and try to apply them to current streaming shows. wich makes no sense.

same is going on with Witch Hat Atelier.

their rules may be odd for most cases but keeping the dates limited to actual air dates makes sense. not everything releases at the same time everywhere

but isnt that the whole point of the tmdb website? to keep track when a tv show became available to watch? if it airs on a regular tv channel or a streaming service shouldnt make any difference.

it airs on different dates in different regions so they always use the country of origin air dates which again makes sense for tracking purposes

please enlighten me what could go wrong when you use the streaming date (when its earlier then the airdate) instead of the airing date for tracking purposes?

because not every country or region streams at the same date. not everything revolves around the US. and it’s up to TMDb to store that data so if you have problems with it try asking them why they don’t honor stream release dates over tv airing dates

i have no problem saying that it would take a lot of work to implement but trakt uses the TMDb database for release dates. so if TMDb doesn’t do it trakt has no way to

since the site doesn’t let you track anime until release date, use the mobile app if you’re on ios or use one of the many third party apps for android since android hasn’t caught up to ios yet

there’s is some slight variance between the apps and website. the apps are not glorified web browsers. use the default trakt app then it allows you to check in or mark anime early. or use rippple it does the same thing. i don’t know what you think young is but i also don’t watch stuff on my phone. i use my apple tv mostly and my ipad when i’m working.

TMDb has a free api which is why they use it. TVDb used to have a free api that trakt used until they started to charge for it. the price of vip is already high would you like it to be higher?
