Upcoming VIP Renewal Pricing Changes

Although I paid for Simkl lifetime VIP, I’m not sure about the way they treat users. Ability to count rewatches is one of the most (if not the most) requested features, and they have done nothing about it for 8 years. Same with rating episodes - they wrote that it takes database space which increases costs, and yet you can “rate” the episodes with emoji. I really don’t think there’s a difference between counting emojis or stars/numbers/whatever ratings (I may be mistaken here).
I’m not saying that Trakt is better than Simkl or vice versa. I’m just cautioning about Simkl as a savior of the movie and shows scrobbling apps.

For now, I have paid for both services, and I’m going to see what the future brings, since my Trakt subscription renews in December and is still at 30$ (probably just jinxed it ;)).

Oh, and to be clear - this whole mess with VIP pricing which personally feels like an insult for old VIP users, and also lack of desire to came with solutions like different price tiers for different needs is frustrating.

Anyone know of any alternative service for Trakt advanced filtering? I use it to track upcoming new movies and TV-shows (not new seasons, but entire new shows) while filtering out certain languages, countries of origin and genres.

I guess one needs VIP to have the ability to filter stuff. At least I’m not seeing any such options.

Hey everyone! We appreciate all the input so far. This thread has drifted quite a bit off-topic and has become primarily focused on competitors, so we’re going to go ahead and close it.

That said, we truly appreciate your feedback and have taken your concerns to heart. We hear you — especially when it comes to wanting more visibility into what’s next for Trakt. We’re excited to share that a new public roadmap should be released by the end of the week, with more to come.

Thanks again for your continued support and engagement!
