Upcoming VIP Renewal Pricing Changes (2)

Continuing the discussion from Upcoming VIP Renewal Pricing Changes:

So instead of actual answers we get this more than general reply and a locked thread with 900 comments? Got it. Never canceled anything this fast.

Not true at all. There are comments about a competitor but the thread was absolutely still focused on Trakt and its wrongdoings.

Even if it was the focus it’s not off topic. A competitor is very much relevant when a company does something like this.

Why lock the thread instead of posting a reminder of new rules that people may not have even seen?

We don’t believe you! There’s no reason to.

Only course they only pick one piece of our feedback and of course it’s more promises and things coming soon.

And oh my god I noticed that the comments was marked as solved??? What???

Trakt’s approach to communicating with its members grows more disgusting by the day.

New features should be communicated and developed before such a massive price hike - not promised in return for accepting it.

At this point, as someone who contributes regularly to TMDB, I provide more value to Trakt than it does to me.

Another bad trakt response, lol. You keep getting more and more anti consumer.

If the other thread was against the Trakt policy, you guys should have issued a warning or something else. Silencing your users won’t do you any favours. Just saying…

I initially cancelled because of the huge arbitrary increase in price. I am staying away now because of the terrible (or lack thereof) response from the powers that be. They don’t care about you, your history here or how you feel about all this. They just want your money and they want the detractors to quietly go away.

Terrible way to run a business. Trakt isn’t as popular as they might have you believe.

This is so crazy to realize when you think about it. Justin unilaterally decided to shut out TVDB in favor of TMDB and he put all the work on us. We make Trakt usable.

Just when you think that nothing about Trakt can disappoint you any further, its management somehow always finds a way. :))

They again closed a topic for no reason… Again? What is this bs… So done with this clown show that Trakt became lately… Pathetic… absolutely disgusting!

Anti customer haha how??, the issue is " solved" haha   Solved = cut off our comments.

They should be embarrassed that the top topic is now the infamous thread that is closed without any reason and no comment whatsoever from someone of the staff that matters.

I wouldn’t be surprised it they somehow deleted that entire thread.

Shocked they’ve closed the threads with nary a response. Look, for $19 a year Letterboxd allow stats, an app, unlimited lists and the logging. Sure it’s just movies but supposedly there’s plans to add TV. Just in time too because paying $60 for Trakt is outrageous. It’s more than any streaming service for logging. That’s absurd.

It’s like the real life “Dumb and Dumber”. PR Disaster Class 101. Just when you think they couldn’t make it any worse, they go ahead and flip one final middle finger to the rest of the users and reignite the vitriol.

The Trakt ‘response’ of doubling-down and locking that thread is vindicating my decision to cancel and move on.

I don’t think there is any feature in the world that Trakt can announce or teaser that would make it worth 60$ for all the users that don’t even use the “expensive” features right now. Adding more information about features that they want to add in the coming years doesn’t make people want to pay more today. The problem isn’t with what you get for 60$ but what you actually use for 60$. I don’t know why they seem incapable of understanding that simple point. The only way to resolve that is tiered pricing. But because of all the BS around it that won’t get back the VIPs they lost. It might keep those still around for longer though.

I love that the last thread got to 900 posts and the only response from anyone at Trakt was essentially “Enough is enough. Now behave”.
And they wonder why everyone is so pissed off.
At least engage with your users instead of this ‘Let’s go radio silent and hope it blows over’ approach you’re taking. It sad, pathetic, and extremely disappointing.

Manually shutting it down just to hide the way community absolutely despises them lol.
It was by far the largest thread on the entire forum, I had to find this thread just to even see the old one, that is some absurd cowardness from their team.

Let’s see it from the bright side, we all now have 15-30€ to spend on something else per year.

Just like I thought; they unlisted the entire thread to hide their embarrassment and it now can be only visited through a direct link.
