VIP $60 for 2 years

Thanks, that’s a fair response

Followed guidance here, cancelled and renewed. Lost 5 weeks of subscription but paid $60 for 2 years with option to be at $96 for 2 years after (makes no sense…..when current subscribers pay $120 for that). I honestly was fine with their price hike until a couple of bad bugs popped up that have not been fixed and then this weird promo that is literally just randomly punishing people based on when their subscriptions end.

Really bad PR and marketing here. Best thing they can do now is extend the offer of $60 for 2 years to all current members once their subscriptions end.

I would’ve expected the two years to be added to the subscription period of your canceled subscription, since that’s what you already paid for

Almost 14 years on Trakt, 11 of those as VIP, plus many years voluntarily paying 60€ for the EP badge.

I’ve always seen the value, was genuinely happy for years, and actively recommended Trakt to tons of people – quite a few joined because of me.

But what’s been happening lately to the very community that made Trakt big in the first place is honestly shocking. Even someone like me, a long-time loyal user, is seriously considering walking away.

If they now start removing long-standing features I use every day or kill the 10-star rating system, that decision will only get easier.

Sad to say, but right now I can no longer recommend Trakt in good conscience.

So far have been able to resist the temptation of the BF deal. I’m happy to pay 30 USD per year or 60 USD for two years, but the 96 USD per two years after that makes it feel like a stay of execution because I still wouldn’t pay for that. Mind you, the only features I’d be paying for is the monthly/yearly/all-time statistics because those are great to share with friends, and in my opinion Trakt has the most extensive and visually appealing stats of all platforms I’ve seen. I don’t use anything else that Premium offers.

Oh, and if I were still VIP (it expired a few weeks ago) I would’ve still paid to keep my VIP badge of 7+ years going. Silly, I know, but it was something ‘special‘. So even if Trakt in a year is going to be like we’ve made a mistake and go back to 30 USD per year (I doubt it), it will never be as tempting to pay for Trakt again.

Decided to grab the offer as well as my sub was ending on the 21st and Trakt is definitely not worth £60 a year. Although at the rate things are going with the downgrades, I’m not even sure Trakt will be around in 2 years time haha

Same. I had premium until january 17 (canceled in october) but after renewing it now says “Next Renewal: 2027 Dec 1”. Weird that almost 2 months of premium just disappeared.

Very disappointing. Been a VIP member since 2012. I was thinking about cancelling when I received a notice that it’s going up to $60/year.

Now I am seriously thinking of cancelling. The UI and app are not giving me what I am looking for anymore.

Tired of existing members/clients not receiving the same prices as new clients, I just switched my insurance company, my bank, my brokerage firm and other services for the same reason.

glad i cancelled on the price hike now i have 2 years at $30/each, ofc i cancelled the vip immediately as im sure in 2 years im going to have an “offer” again i will never pay 60 for trakt its not worth it at all

Maybe this is what they meant by ‘new subscriptions only’. That could’ve been made more clear though if that’s the case.

I canceled my subscription back in September, but it runs out end of May next year. If I had renewed now I’d have lost almost half a year of VIP I already paid for and would thus effectively be paying about $75 for 2 years VIP. Still less than the $96 but also still more than what customers paid for VIP up until recently, which made it kind of an underwhelming deal for me.

I guess this offer was only really worthwhile if your subscription happened to be ending in the last part of 2025 or if you’re a new subscriber.

You don’t lose out on any time. If you look at your expiration date, you’ll see all of the time that you’ve paid for, we’re just unable to change the renewal date once a new subscription is started. If you cancel the subscription, you won’t be charged on the renewal date and will be able to utilize all of the time that you’ve paid for.

Cancelling your subscription does not cause you to lose your VIP badge either. Even if your subscription lapses, if you sign up again you’ll still see the badge with the correct number of years applied. Let me know if you need any additional clarification

Is this deal still on? I might have missed it and now am fucked.

I cancelled anyways, either I get the deal or I walk essentially. $60USD doesnt make sense financially. This deal would have kept me but I didn’t see it.

I believe it was a Black Friday deal and disappeared from my desktop a few days after BF. Sadly I missed it too

As always, they haven’t advertised the deal (60 usd for two years) to their loyal customers, as they should have done. Another slap in the face, for the so called “VIP”. 30 USD per year could be a fair price to support Trakt, but I really don’k like this treatment and the road Trakt is following.

$30 per year seemed fair and near my limit to support Trakt. $60 per year is beyond my limit; it seems too much for a platform like Trakt. I have already canceled my renewal. I really liked Trakt and thought I would continue for as many years as possible. I was expecting price increases, but I’m sorry, Trakt is not worth it for $60 a year.

I just received an email about my upcoming renewal and it still lists my old plan…..

At the end of the day, I believe that they do not want our money. Greed is a bad thing.
