When I make a filter for the current month (Jan) on the Trakt website, it filters out everything for the next months. Have a look at the example screenshot.
Any suggestions?
You filtered on series premiering. U donât think any are premiering in February on Netflix or apple+
Surely new series will premiere. Adding more streaming services still results in zero shows.
Another symptom is that if I save this filter, go to February and apply the saved filter, the page goes back to January, as if the month is automatically saved with the filter
Just filtering on two streaming services (no premieres) comes up with zero episodes. I must be doing something wrong. Can someone try to reproduce this?
Additional info. The issue is only in grid mode. When I use list mode, the filters work as intended.
Iâm just guessing, but maybe it canât see much forward (or itâs my settings), Iâm not even getting any episodes after today in that filter.
What happens if in calendar settings you switch to List mode instead of grid?
I narrowed the issue down to streaming services. It looks like all selections work as they should, except when one or more streaming services are selected for a filter
I think you should filter on Network instead of âavailable to watch onâ. Episodes that have not aired donât have any âavailable to watch onâ attached as they are not out yetâŚ
I tried for Apple+. That indeed works. However, there are e.g. multiple Netflix networks. Which to choose?
I personally would not label Apple+ as a TV network. Disney Plus is not present under networks, but is listed as Disney Channel.
It seems that the future data on streaming networks are there (if you donât filter) but they can not be shown in the future with a streaming filter.
That filter might be differently implemented. I noticed that there are no logical operators, such as âanyâ or ânoneâ
Streaming services are considered networks to indicate that they have original programming, otherwise it would be impossible to label that.
Thatâs because itâs Disney+ you should be looking for, not Disney Plus. It is listed as a network.
Note that the networks filter only takes into account the original network. So if a series premiered on Disney Channel that will be listed as the Network (as per TMDB rules) even if itâs also available on Disney+ (regardless if itâs same day or later).
Short recap on how things are labeled:
- Network: TV channel or streaming service that the show premieres on.
- âAvailable to watch onâ any streaming service that currently has the show in its offering. (according to JustWatch)
The fact that some networks are listed multiple times is something for @support to figure out.
However for Netflix I found that only the first one actually has any content. (Probably they got added due to mistakes made on TMDB in the past and they donât get removed automatically)
Not sure what youâre saying here, but keep in mind that this data comes from JustWatch. As far as Iâm aware they donât display anything in the future. That filter is really to look up where it is available right now.
Wow, never even thought about that!!
Thank you for clarifying. That helps my understanding.
Iâll try to weed through the networks to find my streaming services for filtering. I tried Disney+ under networks but nothing came up for the coming months (premieres filter).
Shows that I marked for watching on my streaming services do show up in the future on âMy Calendarsâ so the information seems to be there. I was looking for a way to mark new shows on my favorite streaming services for watching.
I guess I was expecting that streaming services are different from networks and that I could easily access the future calendar for Netflix and the like. A âpast-onlyâ calendar for streaming services was not exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks again. Trakt is a great service
