Apple TV Purchased Media Tracking?

I purchase a lot of content on Apple TV and I don’t see any of that being tracked from what I’m watching. Am I doing something wrong or is this not supported?

Isn’t the scrobbler sync supposed to be for Apple TV+ as opposed to Apple TV?

It is tracking my Apple TV+ shows, but I figured that would also tap into my purchased content as well.

I don’t really use Apple, but I think they’re 2 completely different things/services though.

This is what I see when I ask Google.

Yes, and I use Apple TV+, but the fact that I watch content purchased from Apple TV Store should also be tracked. Viewing from the Apple TV where scrobbling should already be happening. The content tracks just the same in my TV app as does ATV+ content lives.

Edit: I’m not expecting it to pick up my entire library, although I’m not sure why it can’t, considering all the information should go through the same API.

I’m guessing you’re talking about something that works like Amazon Prime. If you make a purchase and/or sign up for another streaming service THROUGH Amazon Prime, then it will also sync the data during an Amazon Prime sync.

But if that is the case, then your purchases would need to be going THROUGH Apple TV+ in order for the scrobbler to be able to hopefully sync the data through a future Apple TV+ sync

Just know that a lot of data is still being SKIPPED and therefore not everything is able to be synced for whatever reason.

So, here is my recently watched. Two of my recent shows Monarch, and Hijack, are being tracked. But, these shows (MHAV, SM, and IASIP) are not tracking, because those are shows I’ve purchased. They’re all being watched on the Apple TV, with the Trakt app installed. But, only the ATV+ shows are being tracked. I have most of the streaming services and purchase shows I enjoy when they’re on sale. Seems like a bit of a miss, if this doesn’t work. I’ve been migrating away from obtaining movies/tv in other ways and purchasing content I like.

Any word from a dev on this? I’m not finding a compelling reason to not cancel my subscription if there are some glaring holes in how this tracks libraries.

You can always try sending a ticket/message directly to support to see how they respond :woman_shrugging:

This is not a feature as of now, but you can suggest it in the new feedback hub anytime

So after a lot of research it seems this isn’t even possible. Which is very frustrating. I dug through tons of Apple docs and APIs and these specific APIs are locked down for keeping track of personally purchased media. So, I guess this is solved.
