I am sitting here trying to figure it out myself and am also stumped at the logic.
Just more proof the the people making these decisions have no forking clue what they are doing!!

If I go on the website, the Up Next only shows the shows I am tracking that have new episodes I haven’t seen. But if I go on the Trakt iOS app, it is all of a sudden showing every show I have ever watched and says I am tracking them all, even if I am not. I don’t see anything in the app options to fix this. Is this a bug? If not, how do I fix it?
Thanks! Came here to post this as well. Same thing on Android app.
Same here on both ios and android apps
All of a sudden the app is showing hidden items in Calendar and in Up Next. They are not showing up this way online. Did something get changed in the most recent beta?
This is my biggest issue. Up next used to show the progress correctly. Now it shows episode 1 for everything. If I go to the actual show it still has my progress but that defeats the purpose of being able to quickly glance at your progress using Up next
What an idiotic decision, crazy that this is on purpose, I just spent the last few hours moving everything from my Watchlist to separate private watchlists so that it behaves correctly. Everything now works as before, should never have had to do this.
The option to sort episodes by different criteria (release date, ranking, last watched, etc.) is not working.
No matter which option is selected, the episodes are always displayed in the same order in iOS and tvOS.
This behavior could not be intentional. Fix this.
I’m also seeing a weird behavior in up next.
I usually include Watchlisted in my Up Next, so that’s not a problem.
But right now I have two shows that are stuck at the top of Up Next. I have Tulsa King and Slow Horses at the top of Up Next. We haven’t started watching the new season of either. Yet the shows we are watching London Irish and Downton Abbey, don’t push their way to the top. Tulsa King and Slow Horses are pinned at the top on iOS.
Website, is correct.
And why under settings watched progress does Include Watchlisted not make any difference on the iOS app, but does on the website? What is happening to where the website can have different order than the app?
Wildest thing is this “up next” doesn’t even remotely follow the order of what’s in my Watchlist either. That at least might make some sense for those of us who are working our way through a watchlist and have it ordered like we want.
With all the items on the roadmap, and all the suggestions paying supporters have asked for, the change chosen to make is to mess something up everyone was happy with? SMH.
This is such an awful update that literally no one asked for. Why try to fix something that’s not broken? My up next section is a hot mess right now. I was able to drop some shows that were previously marked as hidden so at least that removed a bit of the bloat.
The main issue is why does the setting to “include watchlist in up next” not apply to the app? Is this a bug that will eventually be fixed? Because I am not going through and clicking drop show for every single one of these items… At this point I might just have to make a personal list and name it watchlist.
I really hope you are reading and listening to user feedback. It’s awful to push through a server side update with no heads up or notice to anyone. We pay for vip and want to support this app, but with downgraded changes like this it’s hard to justify paying renewal prices.
I want to make it clear this is a bug and not just a change in behavior.
Shows that I’ve started, actively watching, have been reset to season 1 episode 1. It seems to be only for shows that have a new season out that I haven’t started yet. For shows where I’m in the middle of a season it displays correctly. Would appreciate if the team could make an announcement on the app for everyone to see.
This is beyond ridiculous! Just explain how it would make sense to add all the Watchlist shows to Up Next? They are in a separate List called “Watchlist” for a reason!!! This service is going to be unusable sooner rather than later. It almost is at this point. @justin is this your vision? This used to be such a fantastic and well designed service and App but for more than a year now you and your team are doing everything you can to drive people away! Seriously WTF? Why would you change established well working and great designed things? Your Logo, color schemes, list behaviors, to just name a few… I already canceled VIP. And I’m not sad about it seeing how you guys are destroying what used to be a fantastic place for movie and show tracking. man what happened???
Spent time yesterday moving eveything in my Trakt default watchlist to a new private list. The only series I am keeping in the Trakt default watchlist now are upcoming, brand new series I plan to watch.
I am ok with those showing in Up Next when they finally premiere. If I end up not watching them at that time, I will move them to the private list to watch later.
This will be more work for me to keep the default watchlist clean but it seems like the best option at the moment.
Sorting is still broken though. I have mine set to Title (Ascending) and a series that start with “S” is listed before one that starts with “L”. As someone that has worked in software development for over 25 years, the lack of testing by the Trakt team before releasing something is astounding,
Update as Tulsa King S2E2 was released. That show moved below my current watching, but Slow Horses still stuck at the top.
I emptied my watch list. But up next on the Android app is still populating shows that were from this list. It’s definitively not something from my library. And web version is fine.
And I don’t understand how it could be a cache issue since I reinstalled the app and reloggued on the app, problem still here. Showing shows that are nor in my lists nor in my library nor I never watched.
the change you’re seeing is on the apps only. currently it shows anything from your watchlist in the up next section. The bug is the sorting, its not adhering to the sorting rules that were set by each user
Some of the shows were dropped and some were hidden that showed up. So this doesn’t do anything if the show was already supposed to be dropped
For VIP members aren’t we supposed to get access to beta apps? Do they exist? Would be a great way to test such a massive change.
Hi @support. What’s the plan for this? Is it indeed intentional and thus not in the works to reverse/fix? I do NOT what my unstarted shows to show up in up next and with me it seems a big chunk of your userbase. I am not one for threatening, nor do I really want to ‘threaten’ you with this one. But really, I am this close to packing up, canceling my VIP and shutting down my account to migrate somewhere else. Core functionalities such as the non-convoluted up next plus the ability to rewatch shows was what kept me here. Despite the whole VIP membership and limiting lists debacle earlier this year.
Also, I believe this has been mentioned to you guys earlier in regards to improvements: work on your communication skills…
