I’m a massive Trakt fan and I’ve been VIP for over 7 years now. This App has brought me so much joy and really adds so much to the whole “watching stuff” experience.
Which makes what I’m about to say that much harder.
And I say this with the utmost respect towards the whole Trakt development team who have given me so much over the past years.
But I feel like a dark clowd is hanging over our heads…
The whole re-design, the new 5 star rating system, the minimalism.
I’ve been observing very closely the last couple of days, and I feel very very confident in saying the community DOESN’T WANT THIS.
Trakt is absolutely PERFECT the way it is now.
“Don’t reinvent the wheel.”
I understand that the devs still want their creativity to run wild, and create new and exciting things. I do get that.
But at the very least let us, the massive amount of users that agree with me, be able to still use the Classic Version.
“Stick with what works.”
And if you don’t, I fear a whole lot of people are going to walk away from this beautiful platform.
I humbly request that you listen to the community and keep on giving us the things that we love.
I second this. I have also been a long time user and VIP. I almost liked the Android app better when I was just using the webpage saved to my home screen. One thing I don’t like is the new color scheme. While I love a dark theme (as most of my apps and windows setting will show) the pinks and purples are kind of harsh on my aging eyes.
I also don’t understand why are trying to change the thing that made most of us (in my opinion) choose trakt over the other options. I don’t dislike the the lite version, i actually like it as an app on the phone to quickly mark things, but in no way it should replace the orginal trakt. It may look cool for casual users but for heavy users its completly useless.
I flipped to the new version from the little button in the top ribbon from the classic version of the site (desktop) and thought “nope”, then panicked because there was no button to revert back to the classic. Thankfully, I hadn’t closed the browser tab and was able to go back enough times to get myself back to the classic, and there I have stayed. I definitely won’t be electing to go to the new version, and if they force me to eventually, I will not only promptly cancel VIP, I will leave the site. That new version is AWFUL.
