As a long time user I think it would be a great enhancement if the Trakt team would expand the limit of the watchlist to at least 500 instead of the current limit of 100.
Like many other users I like to put all series and movies that are to be released in the future on my watchlist so I can get an automatic notification when said serie/movie is released.
The same goes for series and movies that have already been released and I still want to watch. By having also the option to monitor all these series and movies you (Trakt) will retain our interest and support of the site.
I have tried to use personal lists to maintain the series and movies that I still want to watch (or that are still to be released) but due to the same limititations in numbers and the regstriction of only 2 listst that is not possible for free users.
I am already at the maximum of 100 items on this list. Only the Show being added. Some I await a new season, while I have watched previous seasons.
Please remove the cab completely !
As a paying user I don’t like the changes being made to free tier and see this as a problem not just for free users but for the platform in general. Don’t expect every option to be available for free (as it hasn’t been) but some things just don’t make sense in these rushed changes.
To those who reply to complain about us complaining, please open a separate thread with your complain. Our outrage is with the fact that the trakt team is trying to pull a fast one. Our beef is NOT with paying users or with the fact that there’s a paid plan itself. We are angry because the trakt team does everything to avoid the elephant in the room. All their replies do not address this directly, they even closed threads and changed RULES so they avoid addressing it. LOL
Doubling (30->60$) the VIP price then REMOVING free features to squeeze people into it is just a cheap and despicable form of the Endowment effect.
To be clear, I would gladly pay, just not 60$. No matter how I look at it, the VIP plan does not bring 60$ worth of value to me. I just need the lists and MAYBE a single VIP feature. I’m willing to give 20$/year for that, but that’s not an option and honestly that’s just lost revenue because of pure greed.

I hope it was an honest mistake, not an attempt to silence the critical voices of the community.
I went back using IMDB for the lists. Trakt used to be the first websites to check a movie. Now I’m only using Trakt for tracking movies and TV shows. For everything else I’m using IMDB.
I agree. There are not paid features worth $60/year here. I did pay for the Cinetrak app. Bronze. And got nothing out of it. Pure support I guess.
Would have paid more for more features. But a yearly membership that expensive is not the right model for this app. They’ll trap existing customers. They will not attract new ones.
5 more days and I have free PRO on SIMKL and I will be moving all my watchlists there. The only thing I will keep here is my Watching/Progress list since (for now) there is no limit on the # series you can have in that list. Let’s see how long it will take @justin and the rest to screw that up as well.
its really sad, that there wont be any changes to the watchlist, because it was the only thing i really used of trakt → keeping track of series and movies i wanted to see (upcoming or already released ones) and of things i already watched.
I dont need lists, i dont need special VIP features…
And with the 100 item limit on the watchlist it became unusable for me (i have 104 things on the watchlist and just wanted to add another series that will come up but cant and wont see if and when it will be released).
I would have paid a small amount to still use trakt but not 60$ just for that!
Well, looks like they dont even want the small money from ppl like me because they dont plan to add a lite subscription aswell.
How/why are you using the watchlist to keep track of things you already watched? Items disappear after you add a play. There are other ways to keep track of things you watch as a free user.
At no point did that person say they are using the watchlist to keep track of things they have already watched. Unless the post has been edited before I read it.
