Import error, guess I am the only one, search brought up nothing

error (Importers::Config::Errors::InvalidZipFileSize)

This is all I get when attempting to import my letterboxed zip file which is 2.2MB

Are you attempting to import it as a zip file? I believe it needs to be extracted into json or csv whichever Letterboxd has created before doing so.

apparently trakt doesn’t send email about replies so I am just seeing this. letterboxd creates a zip file, not a csv or json. i wouldn’t be trying to convert the file to anything else before importing. and if trakt could import csv (which from everything I have read, it cannot) I would be importing my collectors database which is far more comprehensive than letterboxd. thanks for the reply though

yeah you can’t import a zip file. the zip from letterboxd likely contains json or csv files so you’ll need to extract that first and import those internal files.

they do indeed support importing from csv or json, but also can import directly from letterboxd

the letterboxd option does say it takes a zip file as an upload but if that’s not working then try extracting it first

It appears you wrote your response on the fly while looking since you contradict yourself. Either way, I appreciate you responding and trying to help this piddly issue. What you are not showing is this.

It is pretty clear that they take a zip file from letterboxd, and the format of that zip is most likely why it should work. there are multiple csv files that have the proper headers for the columns that trakt would be looking for such as the csv option defines. but as I initially stated, the error defines the SIZE of the file and I don’t see any definition as to what the limits are to attempt to fit. My next mass upload of reviews from my collectors database is next month so maybe it can be sorted by then LOL.

that is indeed why I contradicted myself, I’d edited my post but forgot the remove/adjust the beginning. anyway, have you tried unzipping and just importing the files they give you directly?

I have not. They seem properly named so that may work if I just import the watched and ratings csv. i am going to have to actually look at the csv layout and see if it matches the definition they describe (which is completely more work than it is supposed to take by “supporting” Letterboxd and the zip file intact). I may or may not try it on my next round of updates or if I get in that mode, I may just try and adjust my entire collectors database CSV to match their CSV import def and import that which will cover decades as opposed to a handful of years.

It would be nice if someone from Trakt just answered the question. Size?

Send an email to support@trakt.tv with the file you’re trying to import and I can have someone from the team take a look! :slight_smile:
