Now Watching / Check-In

I’m confused about the Now Watching and Check-In features and hope I’m missing something.

What I’d like the function to be is to mark an item as “Now Watching” to track my minute progress and pause it when I stop (before finishing), and have Trakt keep how far along I am in the run time.

However, the only option seems to be to abandon the “countdown” completely by marking the item entirely unwatched by clicking “Stop check-in” — or let the counter complete then have to unmark the item as watched if it is not indeed finished.

If I’m not missing something, please add a “Pause Check-In” option, as I don’t understand what benefit “Now Watching” has over just marking watched/unwatched if it’s not going to track minute progress.

Hi, thanks for reaching out!
The “Now Watching” feature works exactly like that. If you manually add you have started watching something, we have no way to store the data if you pause it, so your only option is to cancel. It works better if you use it with a media center, or at the theaters, otherwise, the best option is to just mark the item as watched after you finished it.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
