Since you’re following no one, it will use the global recommended items from the community. I don’t have specifics, but your idea of using the personally recommended to seed things is a good idea.

If trakt recommends through follows, then how can trakt recommend to users through an add-on? Stremio is one program that works with add-ons, such as trakt. I haven’t seen a recommended section on stremio’s trakt section.
Also, user-based recommendations are underperforming. The performance is with ranking by average watch time percentage and personalizing through keyword metadata and implicit engagement. I think trakt won’t do for stremio’s recommendations.
Why do you keep talking about stremio? Talk to them about recommendations instead of complaining about Trakt without using it
