I also have a problem with Plex Sync/Plex Webhook. Plex Sync is correctly connected to my Plex server, the Webhook is correctly set in my server (and has been for many years), both says that their most recent sync/event was on 10 May 2026 17h31, and despite this I’m still missing watched episodes/movies for the last 7 days. I forced a sync yesterday and it didn’t import my watched episodes. I had to manually mark them watched.
I checked the PMS logs with “trakt” keyword but I only see requests with error codes 200, 424 and 415, so nothing out of the ordinary if I understood correctly.

So where exactly is this now? I tried using Plex Sync a year ago but it was way too buggy and I figured I’d give it some time and come back to it. Are people now using this over the webhook or are there still too many issues with the synch and people are still sticking with the webhook?
It was running reasonably smooth for a few months. Last three to four weeks or so it needs constant disconnect and reconnect to keep it updated. It fails after about 5-6 days on average for me and seems to do this more if a new series is added and at the same time added to Plex’ Watch List.
Since the V3 rollout, Plex Sync stopped working for me. And I’m getting the same “Trakt service unreachable” error message mentioned above, since the V3 update, when trying to load Plex settings. In the few seconds before the error message came up, I was able to Disconnect from my Plex server - after reconnecting, the error came right back. It simply tries to load and then the “Trakt service unreachable” message pops up, with no option to troubleshoot or re-sync or do anything, other than reload the page, which produces the error again, rinse & repeat…
It’s now also completely impossible to have any idea what you might be undoing after a Sync because unlike the way it was in V2, there’s no way of seeing what item was added, or what wasn’t.
This is an issue that’s been open on the Github for 4+ months so I can only assume this is intentional at this point.
The skipped and paused items are available to see now, but the added items aren’t yet. I am looking into adding a filter to the history page to return only the items for a specific sync (plex, younify, etc)
Justin: why was this new version forced on the user base with little warning, without the option to toggle between the two, and seemingly with less ability to customize? and clearly it’s repetitive work for you now, to add features that already existed in v2!
Would it also be possible to finally enable the filter / search on our library?
If we utilize the suggestions / trends etc or recommendations it’s now completely impossible to see if we have something in our Library already.
As it stands it serves no purpose any more.
FWIW Plex Sync hasn’t been functioning at all for me as of late. I’d given it a few days rest to see if it would catch up and restart but it didn’t.
It was missing additions to the Library, missing plays, missing additions to Watch List.
I’ve tried to go back to a combo of Plex Sync and the Webhook for certain items but that’s not functioning either.
The thing is I can’t even add anything to it, so it really isn’t helpful at all now. It also appears you’re the sole person handling Plex Sync which isn’t reassuring to say the least considering your obvious commitments to other aspects of Trakt.
Can we at least get some kind of roadmap for what the goals are for Trakt as regards the handling of the Library and items like Notes so we can decide whether to just throw the towel in considering it’s gone from 99.9% automated accuracy to <25% at this point.
