So me and my friend watch a lot of shows from Korea and Japan and sometimes the images need to be refreshed because something is missing or some information is wrong so I fix it and refresh the data. In the last few days it seems I can’t manually update it.
First I thought it was because I just updated it so I tested a few hours later and nothing changed. It only updated the next day, when trakt picked the information. Today I tried refreshing something that already had the images and a poster on TVDB and nothing changed. It didn’t even picked up the TMDB ID I added, and most of the times the ID would be recognized very quickly.
I’m just asking if there is something wrong with the refresh for VIP.
These are the 2 shows I tried updating today. Both already had the missing images on TVDB.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure Trakt only pulls the English translation or no language images (maybe only no language images? idk if that even is a thing on tvdb though). The backdrop that is added for Hometown Flex on tvdb has Korean text, and is thus added as Korean.
The poster also has an EN version, so that one does get pulled.
For Mari and I it’s the other way around, EN backdrop (which is pulled) and KR poster (not pulled).
Oh, and TMDb has a wrongly tagged “No Language” KR poster, so that will get pulled after refresh with the TVDb id added (to TMDb).
Interesting, never noticed this. Usually it would just pull it, maybe in the other shows they were all added as english then. I know that from TMDB it gets the most voted one (when there is no english one I think), no matter the language, but didn’t know that it was different for TVDB. Still think it is weird that it is not getting the TMDB ID since it used to get them pretty fast with refresh but for the images, that’s probably true. Thanks for clearing that.
