I’ve been using a profile BG image since 2016 for Hooten & The Lady, but today I checked and it has changed to some other low quality BG image. Can someone please explain how I can get my profile image back that way I had it?

Since TVDB will no longer be used as a database the TV Shows are changing to TMDB. It seems that show changed databases from TVDB to TMDB so the images changed. It was probably one from TVDB. See if it was any of these and I will try to add it to the other database: Artwork - TheTVDB.com

So does that mean that the backgrounds will rotate as well? I ask because I noticed it did on another TV show I was watching.

I just added the image on TMDB and voted for it, it seems it is the most voted now and in a few hours if you or anyone refreshes the images from that show it will change back.
As far as I know, all TV shows will change databases and update to the images of TMDB. Some of them are the same, some are not. You can see if a show has changed here:
The ones that have not still need some adjusts to make sure the data matches.
If any of them change to a bad image you can create an account on TMDB and upload another and vote for it, or vote for another existing one. The most voted one is the one trakt will get after a refresh.
