Rewatching TV Shows

Rewatching is a big part of watching TV shows. We love to watch our favorites over and over. Before a new season comes out, we want to rewatch and refresh our memory. As a VIP member, you can easily track what you’re rewatching, without affecting your previous watched history.

How can I rewatch?

Rewatch a show from any show page, your progress page, and your dashboard up next. Click the rewatch icon and it will ask when you started rewatching the show.

Here is what the rewatch icon looks like in the various pages.

How does rewatching affect Trakt?

Rewatching a show doesn’t change any of your watched history (no plays will be lost!). It just sets a point in time and we recalculate your watched progress from that point forward.

Note: You can undo a rewatch and no plays are actually removed, so there is no risk to trying it out.

Here’s what you see on a main show page. The button icon and text changed to indicate you’re rewatching. Hover over the progress bar to see the original watched progress calculations.

The icon changes in other places too, such as search results. Hover over the icon to see your rewatched and original watched progress.

Seasons also calculate your rewatching and original watched progress.

You’ll also see a rewatching icon in other places to quickly know you’re rewatching a show.

How can I undo a rewatch?

Since rewatching a show doesn’t actually change your watched history, it’s super easy to undo the rewatch. Go to your hidden items settings page and just click on the poster for any show you want to restore.

What if I don’t want the rewatch to update everywhere in Trakt?

We have a setting for that too. If you prefer to see your global watched percentage everywhere, just change the global Rewatching setting.

Note: The dashboard up next and progress page will always use the rewatching data no matter what this setting is.
