They’re shutting down their forums and moving entirely to a ticketing system.
Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

I think it’s the best move they could’ve made.
I hope it will lead to better handling of delete requests, because it’s insane you have to wait for months simply because it’s a Chinese show when I’m handing all the info on a silver platter.
Now to mention how ridiculous it is that everyone and their mother can submit false data but when it comes to deletions you need to move mountains to get stuff done
I was already wondering where the link to their forums went yesterday… lol. This explains it!
It’s good for delete requests, but that’s about it. Everything else that requires discussion should be on the forum. Mods don’t have to explain themselves regarding the handling of certain series anymore. And how do I know if I’m submitting a ticket that dozens of people already submitted?
I think you should be able to search the ticket system, much like you search the forums.
About discussions, I guess you could still put that in the policy section. I just don’t know if any of the sections are “everyone can weigh in” or mods and ticket creators only… let’s see!
the major problem is that stupid people keeps messing up with old shows. I mean why go on a show of 2017 and add extra episodes and stuff. Then trakt gets sync, you have to open a change request to thetvtb and beg them literately for them to lock the show as it serves no reason to be open and then come here and ask for the remove of the extra episode.
Why do they not lock a verified old show, a show from 2018 that has episodes and stuff correctly just lock it !
Also why people are so trolls and keep messing with shows ? just for the fun of it.
That is the major problem of tvdb, people must stop messing with the show episodes !!!
Yes, people keep messing shows just because they want in both sources. It’s frustrating. They should lock shows that ended and if any new specials come up they should add them or we should send requests for them to be added. At least for the things I asked TVDB were always fast to answer on the forums (unlike TMDB where I once sent a request and they took 2 months to even answer)
I think this might be good for simple requests. But it will indeed be worse when you need to discuss the change.
I didn’t even know they had a forum, not gonna lie.
hahahah, that was priceless
I’m honestly still mad about it. Just like many other updates they went the fast track so it uses a different login system while still offering no features to interact with the content… it’s now basically just a private forum without even the option to find moderation statements about past decisions on community questions (or the option to discuss something). Not helpful at all. TMDB at least lets you report stuff in a semi efficient way where as the crappiest images will stay on TVDB forever since no one is going to bother reporting them. These days the moderation team has seemingly also gotten very small with most of the “OGs” not being active anymore (just like the admins). All my interactions so far have been really bad with citing some random other mods decision for closure (w/o discussion and sometimes even locking responses) or other deflections.
https://thetvdb.com/series/the-haunting is a prime example of something that needed a decent explanation of why they’re making it an anthology when Netflix isn’t…
I’ve come to the point where I’m starting to care less about either popular meta data provider and doing the minimum edits because just like TMDB a while back they’ve now also seemingly lost tons of images and votes on shows.
I totally agree with this. The only good this is that my issues are getting resolved faster but ooofff.
And I get the same feeling, I don’t see DarklightIndigo or… ManiacB or something anymore
I really dislike the lack of transparency with the current ticketing system…
I submitted a ticket about a server configuration error on the new ticket site that makes it basically unusable in Safari (and that’s because Safari is actually sticking to the standard). It got marked fixed despite the stupid error coming up while trying to check it. I even gave them a fix!
