TV Time Import - Missing Episodes, Rewatches & Questions About the Recommended Export

Hi,

First of all, thank you for adding the official TV Time importer. Like many long-time TV Time users, I’m currently trying to migrate to Trakt, and I really appreciate the work you’ve put into making that possible.

Unfortunately, after several imports and many hours of testing, I’ve run into a few issues that make it difficult for me to trust the migration completely.

My setup

  • Imported using the official TV Time GDPR ZIP export
  • Also tested the TV Time Liberator export
  • Enable Multiple Plays is enabled in my account settings
  • Around 10,900 watched TV episodes
  • Around 300 watched movies
  1. Random watch history entries seem to be missing

I’ve found several examples where random episodes are missing after the import.

Tougen Anki

  • TV Time: 24/24 watched
  • Trakt: 16/24 watched

Episodes 17-24 are completely missing from both Progress and History.

Tulsa King

TV Time shows the series as completed.

In Trakt, the last two episodes are missing from History.

Masamune-kun’s Revenge

Every episode is marked as watched in TV Time.

In Trakt, Episode 5 is missing, while every other episode is correctly marked as watched.

I also manually inspected the exported data and couldn’t find any obvious difference between episodes that imported successfully and those that didn’t. The missing episodes are present in the export file just like the episodes that were imported correctly, which makes me think the issue may occur during the import process rather than in the export itself.

These examples make me worry that random watch events may not have been imported correctly.

The missing episodes don’t seem to follow any obvious pattern. Sometimes the last episodes of a season are missing, while in other cases a seemingly random episode in the middle of a season is missing.

  1. Multiple Plays / Rewatches

One of the most important features for me is preserving my rewatches.

My TV Time account contains several rewatches, for example:

  • Lost
  • Lucifer
  • John Wick
  • Classroom of the Elite

I have already enabled “Enable Multiple Plays”, but I cannot see my rewatches reflected after the import.

Is there any way to verify whether multiple plays were imported successfully, or are they currently not imported from TV Time at all?

Are rewatches from TV Time currently supported?

Or is this functionality still being worked on?

  1. Different exports produce different results

I also compared the two available export methods.

Official TV Time export

Detected by Trakt as:

  • 11,232 History items
  • 22 Watchlist entries
  • 23 Ratings

TV Time Liberator export

Detected by Trakt as:

  • 10,981 History items
  • 210 Watchlist entries
  • 22 Ratings

This confuses me quite a bit.

The official TV Time export contains 251 more History items, while the Liberator export contains many more Watchlist entries.

Which export is actually recommended?

Should users import the official GDPR export, or the TV Time Liberator export?

  1. History filter issue

I also noticed another issue on the website.

When I switch my History filter to Movies, it still displays TV episodes.

The filter doesn’t appear to have any effect.

My main concern

I’m trying to migrate over 11,000 watch events from TV Time.

I simply cannot manually verify thousands of episodes one by one.

At the moment, I’m not sure whether I can fully trust the imported data, because I keep finding random missing episodes.

Is this a known issue?

Is the TV Time importer still under active development?

Should I wait before relying on the imported history, or is there anything else I should try?

I’d really like to use Trakt as my new home after TV Time, but I first need to be confident that my watch history has been migrated correctly.

Thank you for your help!
