Forced v3 redirect is a mess

You can pull up the history with a hidden UX on the iOS app. Tapping or holding (I forget which; I don’t have an iPhone) on the “Watched” pill shows history on that platform, but not currently on web or Android.

No, that’s not enough. Like so much of V3 it depends on the user somehow knowing they should touch something that doesn’t look like a control.

We aren’t allowed to say. Naming a competitor will get your whole post removed thanks to this forum’s lovely community standards. It’s probably one of the top three results if you google “trakt alternative” though.

Did anyone notice, or is everyone aware… that even the number of likes we can give is limited? :upside_down_face: Too many posts/thoughts here to agree with, but apparently we’re only allowed so many candies a day, like kids.

Yes, I had to ration my reactions and use bookmarks for a couple days.

im just in disbelief at these changes and this might be the worst. What is the main site useful for if you can’t see when you watched something? and no way to easily add a manual watch of a show/episode or movie.

It’s like they didnt even use the site before and came up with a new one. I have no reason to come to the main site anymore with all these core features gone. Can only see rudimentary info now, no season by season progress, seemingly no way to add a season as watched which is mind boggling to me.

Thanks trackt for v2, and goodbye.
v2 was only thing I was here for.
So disappointing. I’m leaving.

what android app version has the old interface?

Any less than 3.x

I have no idea how I can see my app version but I disabled updates as soon as the vertical up next on dashboard was removed for iOS in favor of horizontal without a setting to go back.
Best decision ever because they did it for android too.

Just sad they did it on iOS first because im an apple girlie. Though I don’t think iOS has a good way to block a specific app from updating lol. So maybe it is better they did iOS first xd.

Do I need to resubscribe the VIP to use v2? Seriously?

That’s it. After 15 years, it’s time to export what i can and get out.

Usually on Android you can long-press the app in your app drawer or home screen and get a menu, which contains (not always) an “app info” or other entry marked with an “info” icon that opens the app details in settings.

If that doesn’t work, there’s a way to get there through Settings → Apps

Resubscribing would be only temporary, anyway. When V3 is ready according to the Trakt team’s mysterious metrics they will yoink the classic site from VIPs too.

I have not used an apple product since my ipod touch back in high school, sadly android is going the apple way to wall off its OS. I just installed an old version of trakt (2.2.1 android version) and it works great, old design, lets see for how long it works. The dumbification of things is upong us.

I’m also on v2.2.1 (233). I turned off automatic updates just before the first v3 Android beta update so as far as I know we’re on the last stable v2 release.

Aha! Im on 2.0.0.
