Another thing, coz Iâm trying to use the site. If I click a user in this thread, look at their profile, it defaults to this new trakt. Why not the old one if this is a lite testing phase?

It may not be the right thread but seeing that the new Android app and the new Trakt are virtually the same, and also seem very similar in functionality, Iâm posting it here anyway.
The new Android beta just doesnât do it for me. It looks almost exactly like Trakt Lite, which I never use because I simply donât like the way it looks.
I really donât like the horizontal scrolling under âContinue watchingâ, i want to see vertical items without having to click on them first.
I canât go without my Upcoming Schedule calendar. I use it daily. The Upcoming Schedule in the new app is not functioning like a calendar and doesnât feel very user friendly. I want to be able to scroll vertically. And Iâd like to see a calendar format almost exactly like it is in the current Android app, sorted by date and not: airing âin x daysâ.
I also dislike the fact that thereâs almost no header anymore. I like the fact that your header image from the desktop siteâs also visible on the Android app.
I much prefer the look and feel of the current Android app. Same goes for the mobile and especially the desktop website.
And to try to not only point out the negative. The new Android Beta app works very fast and very smooth, in that aspect itâs a lot better than the current Android app.
The latest announcement that LITE will be the new Trakt, which although I already feared was coming, still kind of baffled me. I remember the first big redesign of the Trakt website years ago, which took some getting used to but turned out to be great. I love the current website. I donât really see if Lite has the same functionality options as the current website, it doesnât seem that way. At least itâs not easy to find everything. And as stated before, I just donât really like the look, especially on desktop.
I also wonder how Iâm supposed to scroll sideways. I canât grab an image and drag sideways. Lite seems pretty useless on desktop.
Overall there seems to be a decrease in functionality if you compare the current Android app and current website to the new Android Beta and new Trakt website.
This all saddens me a bit to be honest. I have absolutely loved using Trakt almost everyday for the past twelve years (8 of them being a VIP) and I was stoked when there finally was an Android app as well which I liked. Until now. Change isnât always progress in my opinion.

I havenât switched to lite or new trakt until now. Admin can see how many people preferred new trakt. Is it working or not.

Why does clicking the blue âlistedâ button automatically add a show to the watchlist?
After clicking it, the current list shows up on the far right side. Are you serious? Why do I have to move all the way across the screen just to add a show or a movie to my list?

I want all of those to remain and operate exactly as they already did. They donât need updating. I tried the mobile app today, and absolutely hated the changes. Made the app completely useless to me. I hope the new web design isnât going to follow those same choices.
Things shouldnât be updated just for the sake of being updated. There should be a specific functional or performance purpose for an update, and doing so shouldnât reduce functionality.

Why are you asking users for feedback when youâve completely ignored everyone for the last year. Nobody ever wanted a dumbed down trakt with less features. You charge more then turn the service into a temu version of trakt. I canât comprehend what drives you to make your userbase to start resenting you, and too pig headed to even notice whatâs going on. Why on earth would you announce something as the new standard trakt when in the same post youâve admitted itâs not ready and missing loads of features. Nothing short of brain dead.

For me itâs important that I can re-order the items in the lists. I like some items to be more visible than others at different times. Iâm not sure how it could be improved, but I canât seem to do it yet in the new experience. Thank you!

Congratulations, youâve somehow managed the impossible by making the infamous Digg v4 redesign look like an absolute master stroke of genius compared to whatever absolutely unnecessary counterintuitive ghastly abomination this complete and utter unmitigated disaster is.
I would provide specific feedback but honestly Iâm not even sure where to begin⌠but here are some of my initial feelings and questions:

why is my home page filled with things I literally could not care less about? Continue Watching?? why??? Youâre not a streaming platform, in what circumstance would I be on my profile on my laptop and think âhmmm yes, I think Iâll watch those remaining two hours of a three and a half hour film that I was last watching nine months ago right now, thatâs definitely the number one reason I came to this pageâ??? Or the Start Watching showing me front and center shows that I literally havenât thought about in over a decade??? Or the Upcoming Schedule which I have never once in my life used??? The only remotely interesting content on the new main page is what my few friends are watching, and even then thatâs not the reason I loaded the site.
I know digital change is initially hard for a lot of people and most website or app or OS redesigns are negatively received until people warm up to it, but Iâm afraid youâre deluded if you think thatâs going to be the case here. Especially after the whole grandfathered VIP price hike fiasco has barely even finished blowing over, whatâs the thinking here, you want to make a show of justifying the price increase with an entirely unnecessary total UI redesign that feels like it was thrown together by some generative AI that doesnât understand the first thing about user experience or why and how people even use the site? The overwhelmingly negative feedback that youâre receiving for this redesign isnât just the âany change is badâ crowd having a knee-jerk reaction to it, itâs anybody with the gift of eyesight telling you that this is objectively a terrible move. Nobody was asking for this. Nobody wanted this. Nobody likes this. Nobody will use this.
In an era where youâre already pushing loyal paying users away who had stuck with you for over a decade, where there are several new competing services vying for their defection, how on earth did you come to the conclusion that completely redesigning the web interface with the most soulless, featureless, and incomprehensibly opaque UI/UX imaginable would be what retains users? Iâd suggest you have the users vote on which design they would prefer to use going forward, but listening to the userbase hasnât exactly been a strength of traktâs lately, has it?

So we have plenty of feedback already, I wonder if and what the Trakt team learned from it.
Logically they wonât give up on Lite but somehow I also doubt that they have the intention to move even one iota away from their already established internal roadmap.
This whole affair is a typical âwe just know it better than our own customers what they really want/needâ story, after all.

My previous comment is demonstrated in this screen shot. Dates are listed against epidides. Why is that floating calendar in the top left considered necessary? Itâs a dynamic calendar taking screen real estate unnecessarily

Trakt has never been that good for discovering new content, unless it is just looking at what is trending.
Manually, using the iOS app on my iPad.
Have never bothered with this.
Sorry, itâs not for me to spend hours of my time trying to give you feedback on something that is barely fit for alpha, letalone beta, when you have an excellent website that I was instantly drawn to the moment that I saw it a few years ago. My advice is to abandon it, spend more time maintaining the so called âclassicâ website, and the money that you can save could be used to reduce the cost of the overpriced subscriptions.

The Trakt Lite UI is utter crap and most of us donât want it.
Can you question your choices and ask what your members want, maybe?
Iâm VIP for 13 years and all the choices you are making since couple years are stupid. Stop it and review your way of working.
If the actual trakt UI disappears or is put in maintenance mode, thatâs the end of trakt. I said it here.
