I’m french canadians so i watch many french tv show. but the request will be good for all users i think.
Right now Trakt show only the english titles for episodes, It would be nice to show the original language titles if there no english titles provided, because it’s hard finding a specific episode for some show with just the “Episode Number”.
And maybe, also add a new field in the episode description: “Original language title” that could be available even if an english title is provided.
And “Original language show title” and “Original Movie Title” would be nice too.
This would be very helpful, and it should not be too hard to implement, given that a spoken language has already been set for many movies and shows!
I too find it a bit difficult to find movies and shows sometimes. It especially bugs me when there’s no title set in English, and the episode name becomes just “Episode 01”. Actually, I’ve noticed that sometimes people just set the “original language title” in the “English translations” section of TVDB as well, just to make sure the title comes over correctly to Trakt.
I am also interested in this feature, you should be able to display the title and all the information of the series and films in the language of your choice
I recently tried to get the german show SchleFaZ up to date. I have the same problem as the other comments here, because this is a german show and so most of the episode titles and descriptions are in the de-DE section of the TMDB database, but since trakt only shows what’s put in the en-US section and ignores everything else, the show ends up listing “Episode x” for most of the entries. I tried to add the english title for some of the episodes but it’s a) a lot of work and b) not really reasonable, because this is a german show that shows bad movies along with two people commenting them, so it’s essentially a thing on its own and does not really have an english “original” title.
so, since TMDB has the option to set the “original language” of a movie, series etc. (which is set to german on this one) I think it shouldn’t be a big problem to show the episode data of the “original language” entry (e.g. the german one) instead of sticking to the unset english one.

In this context, it is certainly also worth considering offering the website in different languages. This could further increase the reach of Trakt.
I’ve only been around for a short time, but if I had searched in a more language-neutral way much earlier, I would have come across this great tool sooner.
Maybe there are statistics that show where the community comes from and you pick the first 5 languages?
Yes a localization would not be bad. For Android I use the app CineTrak, which gets the data from Trakt via Api. At the same time, movie names, show names, episode titles and their descriptions are also obtained from TheMovieDB for the actively defined language of the app. If there is no data stored here for German, for example, then a fallback to the English language takes place as Trakt does.
