there’s no way around the tvOS versions but on your phone you can at least use the website instead of the app if you don’t like it that much or the app is missing something you need to do. the only place you’re hamstrung is tvOS, i know you know this, pal

i hear you, and i get that, but they’re working to get most/all of the features back. should they have waited until more was completed, sure. but they also need testing and feedback, and when no one is willing to use the new thing for more than 10 minutes to give proper feedback what else are they supposed to do? and before you say they just stop making the changes, think of how it feels to be creating something only to be told it sucks and you should stop. that’s what 80% of these comments are.
i don’t care if people keep downvoting me, even for just answering questions or re-explaining something someone else said, so downvote away. I’m not trying to push v3, i haven’t used the new site so i also don’t have any feedback for them. i barely use the site, mostly just the app and the app, even gutted, still does what i need. checking in

That’s just not true and you know it. There are a lot of issuea but I could give you countless examples of things that have been improved, specifically on user requests.

Think and ask why they don’t want to use it.
I believe that the guys behind trakt know exactly the feature list of V2 and they also have statistics about how many poeple uses those features. If they watch, the missing features shouldn’t be an issue and there could be only 1 discussion about the design. If people can find their desired features easily on the new UI, there won’t be so much complain. If they can’t because it’s not ready yet or it is not easy to find, something went wrong.
Last year I tried several times to use the new design but I’ve stopped it after 10 mins becuase of the missing features.
Now I use it mainly on ios and I’m fine with that because most of the things are already there. BUT I still have to use the old version in browser to get everything what I want.

I’ve been using the app and website for several days now, and I think it’s undoubtedly better aesthetically and much easier to use for everyday use, but it’s clearly missing some features that I have no doubt will be added in the future. I understand the anger over this change, which is perhaps too sudden and not gradual, and the lack of essential features like the ability to rate a particular season.

Just found yet another problem with the new app, and it’s not just the removal of functionality. The app is actually broken for some series.
Try to access either of the episodes of Frieren Season 2 in the app. You just get a skeleton of a page with no content. But it works perfectly fine on the web with the classic UI https://trakt.tv/shows/frieren-beyond-journey-s-end/seasons/1/episodes/29
are you on iOS or Android? on my iOS version they’re all listed as season one and I can see episode 29 and beyond. I have the beta version which more or less matches the production version
I’m on the current app store version (3.0) of the iOS app
I should maybe clarify that I can see the episodes from the overview for the show after tapping on season 2. It’s clicking into the actual episode, or swiping to “episode 29” after already being on episode 28 of season 1 that fails to show any content.

This is because of TheMovieDB’s somewhat infamous anime rules counting anime as one season if it’s #___, Jujutsu Kaisen the most infamous example.

guys, on web how to scroll season episodes? I can only see the first 6 episode in eery show and nothing else.

on a computer you can hover over the episodes to see the scroll bar at the bottom of them or you can hold shift and scroll with your mouse wheel to scroll sideways
I’d hoped they would’ve removed the horizontal scrolling on the desktop website completely. First of all, the sideways scrolling is not very intuitive, and second, it’s just as jittery as the horizontal scrolling on the homepage was for me. It’s especially noticeable because the rest of the new website works very fluidly.
Do you have that same experience? If it’s just me it might be something to with my browser/settings or something else.

Just keep using v2 and come back in a year. We’ll see.
