I use trakt primarily because it allows you to rate individual seasons, unlike IMDB. IMDB allows you individually rate episodes and also entire series, but not seasons. This was what kept me rating things on trakt.
Correct me if I’m wrong but it appears this feature has been removed? Please say it ain’t so!
@CanePlayz season pages will be indeed phased out, our plan is to focus more on actual consume-able content. Season related features will most likely resurface (potentially) via the season cards in the show summaries.
Even more ironic is that the link posted there takes one to a thread that’s almost 4 months old which then highlights that none of the concerns us paying members raised was acknowledged or addressed.
I am a VIP member. And I’m just as frustrated as everyone else, but instead of just complaining here I’ve actually written up a ton of feedback posts in the forum and issue on GitHub to help shape v3…
Their last answer in this thread was in November, doesn’t matter when the thread was created. Are they supposed to answer with the same messages in every thread about v3?
No worries, as a regular, you can decide which tag should appear.
And in general, I totally agree with everything you said. Personally, it’s just not hitting me as hard, because I’m sort of content with it as long as I can still use v2.
Vote with your wallets people, after like a year paying for Trakt VIP they decide to ruin their app? I had to cancel myself, these people won’t get another dime from me until they fix this, the new UI really is awful (I’m a UX designer), it might be “pretty” but it’s unusable, so many features now gone, relevant bits of information hidden from view, I can’t even tell if I watched a movie by navigating to the movie’s page, no Play history at all, really sad about this. Why? Just why?
So you don’t think any new questions have been posed since then? Not a single one? Everything has been addressed.
And yes, I do feel they should be more visible and addressing concerns here on their forward facing support forums rather than hiding and picking and choosing which topics and questions they will answer on Github.
Agreed. It’s such a downgrade and at the same time the price for VIP has been ‘upgraded’.. That doesn’t match up for me. I had no problem paying more for the experience I really grew to like over the years, but this is absolutely not that. I have been using Trakt for almost 9 years now (4 as a VIP), but these changes have forced me to go look for an alternative. Please backtrack on this or unrelease the new UI and re-release it when it’s actually feature-complete. At the moment it’s a far too stripped down version of what we all love and it certainly ain’t worth the higher cost of a VIP membership. I wouldn’t even pay the old price for this barebone interface to be honest.
It’s just one disappointing and/or frustrating UX change after another 'round here. See also: the recent announcement that physical collection metadata is going away in favor of a digital-, watch-now-focused “Library” that could totally coexist with the Collection feature we already had, but nope. We’re removing stuff instead.
Please dear god bring back the old app!! I have no idea how the new one is supposed to be better in any way, it’s literally the worst design for an app I have ever seen. I can’t even find how to check in, one of the most basic features. Completely moronic, and I won’t apologise for saying so
The new UI is a dumpster fire. I have revoked my VIP until they bring back the old dashboard, as the new one is WAY too focused on discoverability and gives next to zero value to actual customers and providers of the data.
Cancelled my future VIP payment today. I see no reason to keep it active if this is where Trakt is heading. Too bad. 60 dollars was already too steep a price, but asking much more and delivering far less is not going to fly in my book.
I’ve avoided the android app for months now, as it has the new interface, that is a quarter functional… the day I saw the web was rolled out with it, I was ready to cry, it is awful, dog food, garbage
I hope that they listen to the fanbase. Nobody seems to want this. The rating with stars instead of hearts/points is one of the things that bugs me the most. I know it’s pretty common in the movie industry but I’ve always found that to be dumb.
Let’s hope that at the very least they will allow us to choose.
