Scroll or Expand Actors on Movie or Episode pages

On the page for a movie, episode, or show it only displays the first 10 actors, it would be nice to be able to expand or scroll through them to see all of them. This seems so obvious that I assume it is already there and somehow I am just not seeing it.

It is there but it only is on mobile or if you use a touch pad or if you shift scroll. See…

Isn’t that already possible?

You can scroll horizontally, either with mousepad/touchpad, or shift +scroll:

You can also click the link circled in yellow in the image.

Is this what you were asking about? Or have we all missed the mark with your question?

Is that new? Because I am not seeing that anywhere on the site.

I can’t see it either. Perhaps it’s a staff function :eyes:

Way to make me question the world, guys

So unfortunately, it is only admin. It was something Justin had been trying out and had abandoned. Due to the interest here, he will look into finishing and enabling it in the future.

Yeah, I think it is important to have a way for people with a regular old mouse and non-touchscreen to be able to scroll side to side without having to know special keystrokes. I’m a techy and I never imagined shift+scroll would do anything here.

Why not just always show the little scrollbar with the red dot (if there are more actors than are able to be displayed) that shows up when you are actually side-scrolling?

The main reason is that renders differently on each web browser and operating system. In the past we had a custom scrolling plugin, but it was very buggy and almost worse since it wouldn’t work in a lot of cases. I agree a good solution is enabling the “see all” button for a single page of all actors on it.

Yeah, that really was buggy for me haha! I like the see all function, seems easier to make work haha!

Just following up that the actor scrolling was redone several months ago with a better scroll bar. The “view cast & crew” link is also available for everyone with a larger list of all cast and crew.
