Slightly Confusing - To me at least

Short description of the issue

  • When viewing details for a film it shows Released even though the Premier date is weeks away.

  • I know this means its out of Post Production, but to me there should be a step between Post Production and Released to show it’s due for release and only shows released on the Premier date.

  • I know I can just hit the ‘i’ button to get the Premier date…am I just being too picky? :face_with_monocle:

Are you in the UK?

It premiered on 28th May in London in cinema, before a general release on 19th June

I live in Turkey…moved from UK a long while ago.

I understand what you say…but…as per the screenshot the Expected Premier is June 19, nothing about a cinema release.

I’m in France and I’m seeing the same thing here.
I get that it may have premiered somewhere already, but showing it as Released when the movie hasn’t had its official cinema release yet doesn’t really make sense to me.

I think this screenshot shows the issue pretty clearly.
On TMDB, it looks like the Premiere date is being used to mark the movie as Released, while the Theatrical date is used in the Trakt details panel as the actual expected release date.

So there’s a mismatch: the main page says Released, but the detailed release date still points to the theatrical release on June 19th. That feels inconsistent/confusing.

I think their “Released” status reflects the earlier showing/release to allow users who have seen something earlier than the “main release” to mark these items as watched. The release date is related to the main release, in this case, the theatrical public release.
