Is it just me or since we have switched to TMdb the episodes in various TV Shows are very slow to get updated.
Point in question:
I watched episode 7 yesterday and tried to mark it as watched on Trakt. Nope! can’t do it because that episode does not exist on Trakt,
On Trakt it says this show was last updated on 6 April yet TMDB has an episode listed that aired on 5 April (I checked on TMdb after unable to mark as watched) and it is there but it has not been added to Trakt!!
Have we gone a step backwards by going to TMdb, things seemed to work a lot smoother on TVdb (I know the reasons why we had to switch, it is just frustrating) and the slowness.
How long does it take to update Trakt from TMDB?
I have requested and update by clicking “Refresh Date” but it just seems to take an age.
In general, the refresh from TMDB is very fast. But if their API doesn’t give us the data, Trakt won’t know about it. I’m guessing the data was newly added to TMDB, so it does take some time on their end to deliver the data via the TMDB API. Maybe that is what you’re seeing.
I have also found some shows not updating their episodes, even several days after TMDB is updated, for shows where their primary or only source is TMDB.
If it’s been 48 hours and you aren’t seeing a change, please open a support ticket. Ideally, it should be updated within 24 hours. Sometimes some things get stuck and Justin or Sean has to fix it manually.
