for the rows of items, there is a tiny scrollbar that appears in you mouse over it but you can also scroll sideways with your mouse by holding shift while using the scroll wheel up and down. I know its not ideal but its a workaround for that part for now at least

It’s crazy how so much is “in the works” or “in progress".” Why are we dishing out a less than half baked product and not listening to the user base?

Is the desktop website still available, all i can get it app.trakt.com? As mentioned by others, the experience is downgraded significantly.

New UI is honestly a frustration. It completely kills any excitement to visit the website, which it previously had. Right now, it just feels bland, uninspired, and frankly, a downgrade.
The history experience is poor. Why do I need to click on individual days or manually click on a day? At the very least, show 7 days of history by default. Even better implement infinite scroll or fill the page with last 50 entries in history so users can move back and forth if they want more, just a day at a time is ridiculous.
And the trending media/shows/movies section, what’s going on there? Why are posters cluttered with unnecessary metadata that takes up half the space? It looks like half the screen is just greyed out for no reason. It’s visually unappealing and completely ruins the browsing experience. Posters should be clean, visual-first, and engaging, not buried under.
Also, why are posters on the dashboard so small? Only a handful of items are actually relevant at a time, so they should be prominent. Instead, you’re cramming in long lists with tiny visuals that are easy to ignore. Let key content breathe, use larger posters, highlight fewer but more relevant items, and make the experience feel intentional rather than cluttered.
This feels like a step backward in both usability and design. Please fix this.

Careful with critique. they like to ban your forum access and lock or delete whole threads with tens of replies if you criticize their product managers and poor product decisions too harshly, i.e. pointing out proven UI design flaws like horizontal scrolling or the sudden removal of small but evidently used a lot features. while at the same time still welcoming your paid subscription

there was a scrollbar but it disappeared and no longer shows up. I tried the mouse wheel with shift but it doesn’t do anything for me. Might be my browser? (Vivaldi on Mac)

This is actually one of the worst ux resdesigns I have ever had the displeasure of using. I have significant experience at top tech firms and can tell you for certain… this is how the app dies. No one asked for this. The density of the old ui was the draw. Now its looks like a vague generic mobile app. Plex made this mistake and is literally on the brink of collapse lol. Whoever is in charge here has absolute brainworms and I will look forward to exporting my data over to whoever makes a clone of the old version.

They 4x my OG VIP price when it was supposed to stay that price forever, which I obviously cancel. Now they remove my access to trakt “normal” forcing me into the terrible Lite redesign that’s been pointed out so many times that it doesn’t do most of the things the “old” design did, and it looks significantly worse. And adding significantly more limits to every aspect of the site without VIP.
Are you guys wanting to push users away? What the hell is happening at trakt. Maybe you wouldn’t ban people/lock threads for mentioning other similar services if your service was better, cheaper and worth using over those other services. Such a stupid path this project got on over the past ~2-3 years. I believed in Justin, his decisions always made sense, the first big redesign was a significant improvement, and now the project costs more and regressing. What a shame.

I’m not familiar with that browser but it could be blocking something from loading on the page. You can try clearing cache and if that doesn’t work try another browser.
I hate it. I don’t really understand it. I can’t find anything and it really honest work. The dashboard is entirely gone (and even though I had some issues with it - this is insane).

Ha-ha! You’re going to be forced into this HORRIBLE new interface, like it or not. Everything that was actually useful about Trakt is now mostly broken, hidden or “This is planned and will be coming back.” Ha-ha!
Translation:
“We literally don’t know what we’re doing.” (and) “Change, for the sake of change, is all that matters.”

I really miss many of the features that used to make the app more useful.
The previous version was much more complete, with far more useful information and significantly better usability. The current version feels more like an alpha version of what it used to be.

The full list of actors is no longer available — now it only shows 4 or 5 (app).

It’s not possible to quickly switch between episodes.

You can’t see the full date and time of when you watched an episode or movie.

On the series page, you can’t scroll through all episodes — only the first few are displayed (web).

Many of the old features aren’t here yet. In old interface I can when did I watch an episode. Now we don’t have any link for it. It’s a mess. We cannot vote for Seasons.

on the progress page , when you hold down the checkmark for a long time , the “viewed now” or “specify your viewing date and time” menu does not appear .

On the series page , the elements of “seasons” , “similar series” and “popular lists” overlap each other .

On other people’s pages , the elements overlap each other .
