I’ve been using Trakt for about two years, and I really need to express how disappointed I am with the new update. I know updates take effort and I respect the work behind it — but what made Trakt special for me has almost completely disappeared.
There are features that maybe don’t seem “big” on paper, but they were incredibly important to me, and to my whole experience with Trakt:
My account join date — it wasn’t just a number, it reminded me of when I started this journey.
The old Dashboard — it kept me connected, updated, and excited to open the app every day.
Detailed watch history — this meant a lot to me. I used to look back and remember exactly what I watched and when. It made the experience personal, almost nostalgic.
Accurate progress and daily watch time — especially when I watched multiple things in one day. It made me feel like Trakt really understood my habits.
The classic Trakt look and identity — that iconic style is gone. It doesn’t feel like Trakt anymore.
These might seem like small details, but for me, they were the heart of Trakt. They’re what made me stay, use it daily, and enjoy tracking my shows and movies for two full years.
Now the experience feels empty, impersonal, and honestly… it breaks my motivation to track anything. It no longer feels like the Trakt I loved.
I truly appreciate the work behind the update — I’m not trying to bring the team down.
But I’m genuinely heartbroken that Trakt has lost the personality and soul that made it special.
