Thanks :)!
It’s honestly really disappointing that streaming services do not offer any scrobbling API themselves. I wonder if there are any feature requests open that we could collectively upvote or should we ask their support?
I disconnected Netflix because the automatic scrobbler wasn’t working and now I constantly receive email reminders to reconnect it. I do not want to reconnect it. How can I stop receiving these emails about scrobbler?
I’ll be taking a look at your account and some others today to investigate why stuff isn’t syncing. Just to confirm, the watched items aren’t already in your Trakt watched history?
I’m not sure this would be possible.
One thing to look into is if the items exist on Trakt correctly and TMDB correctly. Behind the scenes, we are matching on episode TMDB IDs to identify episodes.
What specific episode?
That would be awesome, but I don’t see them ever doing this. All the services are a walled garden and they don’t want to let anyone in or out. That’s where Trakt comes in to manage all this for you
The apps will have an update out in the next week or so to fix the unlinking process. The workaround is to unlink from https://trakt.tv/settings/scrobblers.
Thank you, I’ve unlinked it from there as well. Hopefully, this will stop the emails.
2x01 2x02 2x03 2x05 didn’t sync (1 i manually added and the rest I have left just in case you can see any thing)
2x04 2x06 and 2x07 did eventually sync so not sure whats going on.
@agneev Are you able to Sign in with Apple TV+ now? Younify deployed a potential fix for the issue, so please let me know if it’s working now.
@justin It does not appear to be fixed. I get the same error:
-[_YCSRestService startRequest:completionHandler:]_block_invoke: dataTaskWithRequest GET request https://api.younify.tv/v1/services/linked failed with status 401
-[_YCSRestService startRequest:completionHandler:]_block_invoke: dataTaskWithRequest POST request https://api.younify.tv/v1/auth/refresh-token failed with status 401

No they’re not. I’ve just been writing them down in case I have to add them manually later.
@justin and team - Any chance that scrobbling “sync” timing will be moved to be a bit more aggressive? I understand you don’t want to overwhelm the API but every 24 hours is pretty slow.
EDIT: and in fact, I’ve waited 24 hours and it doesn’t even appear to be syncing (Netflix), so I just have to do it manually anyway.
I’m sure you’re already aware of this, but I figured I’d make a report nevertheless.
The link to Hulu is problematic at best.
It doesn’t sync very often and if some time goes by that you don’t watch anything on Hulu, the link goes inactive and displays FIX in the Android app.
I saw that someone already reported the profile selection loop already; so, I’m just adding to that.
I’ve been watching a few shows on Prime Video and they don’t seem to sync until I force sync them.
Also, I watched “tick, tick… BOOM!” New Year’s overnight on MAX and the watch never synced, even when I force-synced the service. (I eventually manually added the view.)
Yet, when I watched WONKA earlier, it was fine.
TBH, I’m somewhat dreading the addition of Disney+, especially since Disney+ is attempting to combine three streaming services in one app.
Also, it would really be helpful knowing how often we should expect these services to sync, especially as I’m assumiing it’s not a live PUSH.
All in all, when the scrobbing is working, it’s delightful, but I’m not comfortable that I can trust it yet.
Incidentally, services like Prime Video and Apple TV+ have multiple functionality. They function as a streaming service, a la Disney Plus, and they function as a digital vendor and library like Fandango at Home. Can we expect Younify to report all the activity on these services or just the streaming activity. If they are reporting the library activity, then we have additional problems.
Thanks for reading.
Has been answered before:
I’m having some issues with the incorrect episode getting synced on Prime. I’m currently watching season 4 of “The Expanse” but when it syncs it is saying I watched some special episode which is not the case. For example I just watched epsisode 4x05 but when it synced it said I watched episode “Special 32 - iTunes Extra 104: Characters”. It has done this for the last few episodes of season 4. The end of season 3 was okay.
I cannot se the Max auth on IOS, Netflix seems to be working fine and apple and amazon seems to newer complete the initial sync (yes I have tested to remove and re-add my accounts). I also tested signing up for the beta app without any change.
I really like the feature but it seems to be very beta for now.
Like others here, my scrobblers don’t seem to be auto-syncing, although when I trigger them manually they do seem to work.
Do I understand correctly that right now you can only set up scrobblers on the mobile app, but you can only view the sync status of the scrobblers you have set up on the web app? If so, that’s an odd split of the user experience for this feature.
Correction: my manual sync requests also don’t seem to be having any effect anymore.
This will be a circuitous answer, for sure.
Also, note, I’m just another user like you.
I’m using the Android app and I haven’t x’d out of the announcement box displayed when you first open the app.
If you click the “CONNECT YOUR SERVICES” button [or the gear on your profile], you can see if your scrobbing setup is working as there’s a checkmark next to each service. If instead of a checkmark, you see a button that says FIX. Depending on the service, clicking that button may work or not. If it doesn’t work, unlink and re-link the service. For me, that has always worked.
As for whether the scrobbing is actually progressing, I suppose you ccould check your History feed, but if you’re looking for an actual progress feed (i.e. this view was recorded at this time), at least in the Android app, that information does not exist. You have to check on the web app, for sure.
As someone mentioned earlier, it all seems very beta and I’d rather they fix the feeds they’ve added so far before adding more services.
I apologize if this is more drivel than you cared to read.
I’ve succesfully connected my HBO Max account (I’m living in the Netherlands where it’s still called HBO Max instead of MAX), but syncing doesn’t work.
Even manually starting the sync does not sync a show I watched yesterday.
In the iPhone app there are checkmarks and on the web I see no errors. The last time it reports as being synced was when I connected the service on the 28th.
Is there any known issue with Max at the moment that could cause this?
Is there any rule to how much you gotta watch off a movie or episode. And is it or will it be possible to make it so a push notification is send to the app on your phone for rating.
