This constitutes a break in contract, by yourselves, to subscribers, therefore we don’t have to accept the change in grandfathered prices. We would like to know, officially, how Trakt is going to respond to this serious breach. We do NOT accept the new pricing since it is a serious break in your contractual duties with us.
We demand an official response from one of the co-founders, @justin or @sean, NOT from someone who doesn’t appear to be on the payroll and therefore has no rights in this dispute.
so that means they breached their contract TWICE (maybe 3 times)? once for when they changed their feature limits for free users, and when they no they forced ppl to $60/year. Also, maybe when they were imposing $60/yr to new customers and ppl that don’t have auto renew enabled for renewals.
i think all of those were very little heads up notice.
I agree that this is a serious breech of the TOS but it only affects those whose subs expire(d)/renew(ed) from May 13-June 12. (8% of the subs?) or maybe those who did not get email notification
It affects ALL subs that need renewing after today. My public account one expires in August, my private one in October. No matter when it needs renewing, it’s still only 7 days notice of the price increase before it came into affect, so applies to everyone. They have lied for over 6 months about grandfathered subscriptions, they have pulled all these other crazy stunts with little to no notice. They are making “promises” of good things to come on the back of this, but we all know they never keep their promises. And this, actually breaking their own terms and essentially breaking every subscription contract they have.
The silence from the top is deafening… We had the announcement from a “product manager”, not the highest position there is, and a randomer who isn’t listed anywhere as even being employed by Trakt much less management of any kind. It’s not good enough.
Come on directors @justin and @sean. We are still waiting. If you are no longer in control of your own company we have a right, as paying customers, to know that as well so that everyone can plan accordingly.
that’s not really true, not just now anyway. It’s been like that for a while. only people who were already one of the commentors/particpants can see the thread when someone comments again (in latest active etc)
you can still go to the topic from somewhere where a comment is linked, like from this post by you:
Ah, OK. So you just can’t search for comments by him then. Was able to do that before the profile was hidden (it’s how I found his comments before). Still, doesn’t bode well that he is hidden. Likely means he’s turfed out or soon to be and Trakt will be run by a bunch of yahoos from now on. The fact NOT ONE has commented in any of the posts, nor are defending themselves here, tells you a lot
As indicated by their initial announcement Trakt does not care what we think. They think that users will forget about the lies and deceptions and they will soon be rolling in cash.
We are still waiting @justin and @sean. By not replying it means, to me, you are well aware of your breach in terms but not willing to accept that you are in the wrong! You do realise that by not taking part in remediation we are entitled to take this further, by law?
Thank you for pointing this out, the initial date was an oversight. The announcement has been corrected to June 12, 2025 (30 days after the initial May 13 announcement) and the pricing changes will go into effect on that date.
Oversight? More like whoever is in charge thought that no one would notice the T&C violation and wanted the money grab to start as soon as possible. YOU were the one that assured us that our grandfathered pricing would remain in effect. Then @marius decided to try and change the definition of grandfathered.
