Queue Refresh

Is queue refresh down? I requested a refresh for a couple of shows and it is been hours and nothing.

Yeah, me too, I have seen the same problem.

I was coming to the forums to ask the same question.

I tried refreshing data on several shows since Friday and it’s not working. I get “This is already queued for a refresh!” error when trying to refresh a second time.

The refresh queue is currently backed up a lot. We’ll take a look on Monday and see what we can do to speed it up.

Yeah, I’ve definitely noticed shows not refreshing at all in the past 3 days.

We are in the process of looking into this and trying to determine the root cause of the issue. I’ll be making an update to prioritize VIP (and moderator) refreshes above the automatic daily refreshes that already happen. However, we need to spend some time on finding the cause first.

Refreshes from VIP members will be prioritized higher and shouldn’t get caught in any delays that might happen. In general a refresh should happen within about 10 minutes or less.

We’re still investigating the larger issue or what is causing the delay in the first place. A potential fix is out and we’ll continue monitoring this week.

We’ve been working in this all week and making some very good progress to stabilize and increase performance of the metadata refresh queue. This involves reducing the complexity of the queue items, and allowing small jobs to complete more quickly, which leads to overall performance gains. We’ll continue to tweak things and get things as fast as possible.

As of now, all show and movie updates have been completed and there are about 4,000 podcast updates it is working through. It should be all cleared out by this evening. Around midnight PST it kicks off the automatic updates that TMDB tells about and we’ll monitor those stats in the morning to see how it’s working.

The updates queue is clear right now. It was a bit slower earlier today but seemed to catch up about 2 hours ago. We’re planning to work more on this next week and make further improvements.

So I also noticed that various shows are stuck especially regarding the data around votes/ratings - watchers etc. seem off on both, website and app
When hitting refresh on the show ‘Masters of the air’ on the website it states that the show is already queued for refresh. Never seen that before

Just my 2-cents

Refresh are not working on this show too, for several days.
It says that the show is already queuted.

Last working refresh was January 30.

Just providing more data’s on the problem for helping solving it.

So, this is weird.
Ok when I go to a show - the season - and from here directly into one episode it shows the correct rating and presumably the correct amount of votes. Watchers, plays etc still seem incorrect.

Now if I swipe from this episode at least two episodes further (or back) and swipe back to the initial episode votes and rating are incorrect again. Going out back to the season and choosing the episode again it’s back to the correct votes/rating. In any case the other data in this column stays exactly the same.

I don’t know if this is of any use since I don’t know anything about programming but to me it seems that at least parts of the data is there but get replaced with old data again every time



Do we know what is going on with the queue as it still seems to be having issues with refreshes.

The queue is clear, but there might be some shows that are stuck with refreshing. I’ll figure it to clear those locks tomorrow.

As for the stats, that is likely a caching issue, especially with such low numbers. Metadata is cached for up to 8 hours on the Trakt API and apps.

Also having issues with queue refresh, been waiting a couple days for refreshes on the tv shows “Feud” and “Expats”

If they aren’t showing up in the queue, something is definitely off. Thanks!

I was able to clear any locked metadata refreshes. This means any VIP refreshes or automatic nightly refreshes should for the shows you saw locks on.

Hi! I also came here to see if there are any issues on the queue refreshes. It seems some shows are still stuck? Plus, when I do it the “regular” way, I’m told that I still have a pending report on the show.

Glad to know it’s being worked on though!

Also Podcasts are still having problems refreshing, I had two daily podcasts I listen to and they haven’t refreshed in serveral days (The Viper Rambles Podcast & AppleInsider Daily)

Hopefully this sort of thing gets fixed soon as Trakt is really good but things like this could turn away new users in the near future.

Podcast refreshes are probably due to the XML file being different on those shows. I am looking into that as a separate issue.
